The downloadable booklet, Aboriginal organizations in Manitoba: A directory of groups organized by or for First Nations, Inuit and Metis people, contains a comprehensive list of organizations and service providers arranged by categories: Aboriginal rights, treaty status, local governments; federal and provincial government; friendship centres; children and youth; child and family services; support services; alcoholism and related services; medical services; education; vocational training and employment; housing; communications; church-sponsored groups; arts and crafts; professional services, and justice system. It lists down the organizations’ contact numbers, addresses, websites, and a general description of the functions and services offered, as well as the geographical area served.

Winnipeg Library’s catalog of Aboriginal organizations and cultural and resource centres has an easy-to-use directory of links to the websites of political and treaty organizations; cultural and resource centres; resources for employment, education and training; business and commerce; seniors, youth and women; parenting; health, healing, and justice; and writers, the arts, and sports.

Aboriginal Health Programs (WRHA)

Aboriginal Health Programs (WRHA) is a program of the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority aimed at providing culturally appropriate services, supports and resources for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis patients and their families. The program does not only provide accessible health services (interpretation services, discharge planning, spiritual/cultural care, advocacy, and health education resources), it also has a workforce development component that strives to provide opportunities to develop a representative Aboriginal workforce within the Winnipeg Health Region. The downloadable booklet: Guide to health and social services for Aboriginal people in Manitoba was also produced by the WRHA.

ACI Manitoba – Indigenous Programs and Associated Organizations (Creative communities and industries)

ACI Manitoba – Indigenous Programs and Associated Organizations (Creative communities and industries) is a list of agencies, events, news sites and media outlets, educational institutions, art galleries, and publishing houses that specialize on Aboriginal music, arts and culture (as well as livelihood supports). Most are Manitoba-based, but it includes national organizations and agencies as well. ACI is a not-for-profit organization that supports arts and cultural industries of Manitoba. It also helps develop sustainable careers for those working in the arts and culture through management training, and the provision of resources and networking opportunities, mentorship programs, and indigenous programming.
