Francophone services in MB (Services francophones au Manitoba)

Manitoba has a growing Francophone community. Based on the Manitoba Immigration Facts 2014 statistical report, the number of French-speaking immigrants nearly quadrupled from 2002 to 2014. In fact, St. Boniface in Winnipeg is known as the second largest Francophone community outside of Quebec. Manitoba has been attracting so many Francophone newcomers in recent years as it is regarded as a choice destination.

For our Francophone friends needing settlement services, here are some helpful links to agencies and organizations serving the Francophone community.

Voici quelques organisations qui peuvent offrir des services aux nouveaux arrivants francophone au Manitoba:

Société franco-manitobaine (SFM)

Le site officiel de la communauté francophone du Manitoba. Ici vous pouvez trouver de l’information au sujet de la Société franco-manitobaine (SFM) (l’organisme porte-parole officiel de la population francophone du Manitoba), du Réseau communautaire (agents de l’implantation francophones qui vont vous guider personnellement avec vos besoins d’implantation); et du Centre d’information 233-ALLO (offre à quiconque s’intéresse à la vie en français au Manitoba un service d’information sur la communauté francophone).

Accueil francophone

Une initiative de la Société franco-manitobaine mise sur pied en décembre 2003, facilite l’établissement des nouveaux arrivants francophones au Manitoba. Accueil francophone offre les services suivants: accueille des nouveaux arrivants francophones; aide dans les démarches d’établissement dans la communauté; informe et facilite l’accès aux services et aux programmes dans la communauté; et sensibilise la communauté d’accueil à s’impliquer dans l’accompagnement des nouveaux arrivants. Ils offre aussi de nombreux autres services : : des clubs d’anglais et de devoirs, jumelage, traduction et interprétation, cliniques d’impôts, et ateliers et sessions d’information.


Pluri-elles offre des programmes et services touchent les domaines de l’éducation, de la formation, de l’économie, de la culture, de la santé et des services sociaux. Ces services gratuits incluent: l’employabilité, l’entraide et counselling, l’alphabétisation personelle et familiale, un programme pour les jeunes, et l’éducation sur la violence familial.

Université de Saint-Boniface

Fournit plusieurs services communautaires incluant : : evaluation de compétences langagières, un centre sportif, et un Centre de ressources en français juridique. Le site de l’Université de Saint-Boniface.

Community Resources

Centre de Sante is a Francophone primary health care centre. They offer bilingual services to the French-speaking population of Winnipeg and to residents of St. Boniface.

The Francophone Affairs Secretariat of Manitoba is the main provincial government agency that deals with activities related to French Language services and the French Language Services Policy. It also handles complaints from the public about French language services and acts as a liaison between the Manitoba government and Franco-Manitoban organizations.
