Download and Install Zoom
To join some of our virtual events (drop-in workshops, multi-week sessions and webinars), you will need to download the Zoom Client for Meetings. If you click our Join button and haven’t already installed Zoom, you will be prompted to download and install the program. Click “download & run Zoom”.
Alternately, you can go to the Zoom website and download Zoom Client for Meetings ahead of time here: https://zoom.us/download.
If you are on Windows, your downloaded file will be “ZoomInstaller.exe” or “Zoom_launcher.exe”, and you need to open and run that file. If you are on a Mac, your downloaded file will be “zoomusInstaller.pkg”, and you need to open that file.
If you have trouble installing, you may need to check your security settings or System Preferences and temporarily allow programs from unidentified developers to be installed.
Joining an Event
You can join the event by clicking the Join button on our site, or pasting the meeting url into your browser. You will be prompted by your browser to launch the Zoom application. You will have to click “Ok”, or “Launch” etc, depending what browser you’re using. You can also check the box to take this action automatically in the future.
You can also join the event by launching the program, clicking “Join a Meeting” and paste Session url posted on the event page.
You do NOT need to sign up or login with Zoom to access our events.
Zoom Test and Settings
To test or adjust your audio and video settings, you can go to https://zoom.us/test. You will be prompted to either launch, or download and install Zoom.
When you get to the “How do you want to join the audio conference?” window shown below, click the “Test Computer Audio” link. Then you can test and adjust your audio and video settings from the tabs on the left of the Settings window.
