Syd: | Hi, Len! How have you been? I heard you organized a wedding reception for your son. |

Len: | Hi, I am wonderful! Thanks! Yes, I did. We had many people over, and I was scared there wouldn’t be enough room for everyone, so I erred on the side of caution and booked a large restaurant space for the day. |
Syd: | Oh, but was it a false move, you think? |
Len: | No, I don’t believe so. I think I made the right decision. It was hard to negotiate with the manager, though. She gave me a run-round in terms of pricing, and other details. |
Syd: | Oh, I am sorry to hear that. You probably wouldn’t want their business any more. |
Len: | Not really. The lady manager attended the reception, but I gave her the cold shoulder. |
Syd: | That’s so out of your character! |
Len: | No kidding! I almost gave up at one point: I thought I was fighting the losing battle, but we did come to an agreement the very last minute. |
