Now that you are a little more familiar with the idioms, listen to the dialogue. Can you hear the idioms in the conversation?
Now, read the script of the dialog. Listen to the dialog again. This is one of the best ways to build your listening skills!
Jay: | Hi Alex! |
Alex: | Hello Jay! You look like someone without a care in the world! What is going on? |
Jay: | I do feel better than last week! You know I’ve spent a lot of time this summer with the renovations of my new house. As it happens, some friends went out of their way to help me with finishing some home projects. |
Alex: | Oh! Was that a random act of kindness or did you put out a cry for help? |
Jay: | Both, I guess. Just when I was thinking that everyone couldn’t care less about my struggles, they came to the rescue. Isn’t it great? |
Alex: | Sounds fantastic. Can I help with something? |
Jay: | Thank you! I’ll call you tomorrow and we can talk about it! |
Alex: | Ok. Speak tomorrow then! Bye! |
Jay: | Bye now! |
