Study the powerpoint to learn this week’s idioms.

Step 2

Now that you are a little more familiar with the idioms, listen to the dialogue. First, listen to the dialogue recorded at a slow pace:

Now listen to the same recording at at slightly faster pace:

Can you hear the idioms? Listen again.

Step 3

Now, read the script of the dialog. Listen to the dialog again. This is one of the best ways to build your listening skills!

Len:This new computer is getting way out of hand!
Natalia:Hey, what’s going on?
Len:Hi Natalia, my computer keeps crashing. Can you lend me a hand with this?
Natalia:I think so. Do you have the manual on hand?
Len:No, I’m sorry I don’t. I meant to bring it in to the office today but I forgot it at home.
Natalia:No worries! I know these computers like the back of my hand!
Len:Thank you so much! I was about to wash my hands of this thing!
