Night idioms

This week we will learn a few night idioms:

Read the dialogue to understand the correct usage of the idioms.

SiliaPlease switch off the light. I have to wake up early in the morning.
DanI am studying for my Math test tomorrow. I will be burning the midnight oil tonight.
SiliaNo way! I am very sleepy.  You are a real night owl.
DanThank you for the compliment.
SiliaYou should have studied yesterday instead of going out with your friends.
DanIt was Jeff’s birthday, and I can’t miss the night on the town.
SiliaBy the way! Did you buy a gift for him as you didn’t have much money to buy a brand name watch?
DanI bought one from a fly-by-night store, and he liked it.
SiliaWell, that was smart. I request you again; please call it a night.
DanOk. Give me twenty more minutes and I will study the rest of the topics tomorrow.
SiliaThank you.
