Natalia: | Hey, long time no see! I guess this is what conferences are for – reuniting with old friends! |
Len: | I can’t believe it’s been a year now! How are things going at Roger’s? |
Natalia: | Well, pretty much the same, except that we have a new boss now. |
Len: | Oh, this is quite the news! Who is it? |
Natalia: | Mark Stevenson, from New Leaf. He is a big cheese in the industry. |
Len: | Oh, I know him from the work we’ve done on the regional market… He is a very practical, down to earth guy. |
Natalia: | That’s right, we’re lucky to have him on board … So what’s new with you? |
Len: | I’ve been in sales for over three years now, and I am really hoping to get promoted by the end of the fiscal… |
Natalia: | I’m sure you have good chances. You’ve always been a go-getter! |
Len: | Yeah, I know, but things don’t look nice lately. I mean, there is a guy in our department who’s a brown-noser… I guess I am not getting it this year… |
Natalia: | Now, are you being a wimp? You need to show more confidence to get the position! |
Len: | Well, my other co-workers think I haven’t done well in the last quarter… |
Natalia: | Don’t listen to them, they are just arm-chair critics. |
