Step 1
Study the PowerPoint to learn this week’s idioms.
Step 2
Now that you are a little more familiar with the idioms, listen to the dialogue. Can you hear the idioms in the conversation?
Now, read the script of the dialog. Listen to the dialog again. This is one of the best ways to build your listening skills!
Jay: | Hi Alex! How are you? |
Alex: | Hello Jay, I’m taking a break from university to visit my parents. I really needed to take my mind off exams, and reading and writing essays… |
Jay: | I hear you! We all need to recharge our batteries from time to time! Do you want to come to my party on Saturday? We’re going to have a blast! |
Alex: | Oh, thanks for the invitation! What shall I bring? |
Jay: | Your signature pie, of course! I always indulge myself in your pecan pies….yummy! |
Alex: | Yeah, I remember you love them! Ok then, I’ll make one just for you! See you Saturday. Around seven? |
Jay: | We start at six, come when you can! |
Alex: | OK! See you! |
Jay: | Good bye! |
