Canadian job market is very competitive. Hiring managers sift through many resumes before they find those tailored to the job posting. When writing your resume, you have to understand that you only get one shot. The person on the other end doesn’t know you and they are going to form their opinion about you based on the information you put in your resume. They are never going to find out what a great communicator you are unless you state this experience in your resume. They are never going to find out what a talented salesperson you are unless you have some quantitative date to back that up in your resume, etc.
It is very important to be mindful of the specialized information put in your resume.

It is true, Joy. We do need confidence to do any type of job. Moreover, it takes even more courage for newcomers to step out of their comfort zone and try themselves out in a new environment. At the same time, volunteering might yield great results in building up self-esteem, honing skills and knowledge about a certain field of work.
