Step 2
Read the dialogue to understand the correct usage of the idioms.
| Sonia | It’s been ten days, and I haven’t come up with any good ideas for the presentation at the meeting. |
| Jenet | Have you done any research on the internet? |
| Sonia | The research that I did manage to get done revealed that previous presentations used to be directly related to the employee responsibilities and duties . |
| Jenet | Don’t think inside the box. You need to think outside the box. Why don’t you meet with the staff and let them suggest a topic to you? Maybe you will get some ideas. |
| Sonia | Sounds like a good idea! I’ll try that, but I hope I don’t open Pandora’s box! |
| Jenet | Don’t worry! I am sure it will go well. |
| After two days… | |
| Jenet | Did you meet with the guys in the office and discuss your presentation topics? |
| Sonia | Yes, I did. It was great! I was feeling boxed in trying to do this by myself. Now, I want to deliver a presentation from the employers’ point of view. I mean how employers look at their employees, which skills and work habits are valued, meeting deadlines and much more. |
| Jenet | Look, my idea worked. |
| Sonia | Thank you so much. Let’s go for some coffee. |
| Jenet | Sure. |
